Events Gallery for every community of every FAITH

Human trafficking, both sex and labor trafficking, is a crime that knows no borders of faith, color, language, stature, or country. Everyone of every faith needs to know how to recognize trafficking that is happening, right here, right now, wherever the here and now may be. Everyone of every faith needs to know how to recognize the tactics used to recruit especially, but not exclusively, young persons into trafficking.

Our larger Past Faith Events:

2022.02.05 – “HUMAN TRAFFICKING,” an international event via Zoom by the Saints Peter and Paul Missions Ministry and Saint Anna Philoptochos Society of San Jose, California.

What an inspired event! We heard from His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britian on the state of sex trafficking in England and the world, from Sister Nektaria describing the trafficking experiences of the children in her shelter in India that she is helping to heal, and from Laurel Botsford on her nonprofit’s PREVENTION BEFORE HARM efforts in the San Francisco Bay Area. The similarities and the differences of global and local trafficking became evident while suggested solutions where given voice alongside hopes for the future. 2021.01.20 – “HUMAN TRAFFICKING – Education, Awareness, Detection, Recovery,” an event for the Community hosted by the San Francisco Metropolis Philoptochos Wellness Ministry of Belmont, California.

A powerful event in which the Philoptochos ladies invited their members in faith, county officials and other community leaders to learn about the issues of sex trafficking, of signs to watch for, and the ways to take action in safety.

2019.05.04 – SPRING GATHERING Event, “Eradicating Sex Trafficking,” by the Novato Presbyterian Women, Novato, California.

Engaging with the Presbyterian Women was a joy! As Founder of Wisdom International and Trained Volunteer Ambassador of Hope for Shared Hope International, Laurel continues her quest to educate all communities on prevention of human trafficking before the harm happens to anyone. You can help too! There are many ways, two of which are to volunteer with Laurel on her local efforts or become a volunteer Ambassador of Hope or a Defender for Shared Hope. Either way, you add your energy and effort to the protection of children and to the end of child sex trafficking.

2018.10.07 – “Protecting Our Community’s Children,” with Shared Hope International Ambassador, Hayward, California.

All Saint’s Confirmation Class

October 07, 2018 from 09:00am – 1:00pm
All Saint’s Catholic Church
22824 2nd Street, Hayward, CA  94541

Training our youth and the community is a mainstay of our work, bringing prevention education to who need it most: those at the vulnerable age of recruitment and all who are in their lives.

2016.09.07 – “Protecting Teenagers, an important Community Meeting about the Crime of Sex Trafficking in Richmond and What You Can Do To Stop It,” hosted by the Park Presidio United Methodist Church with Shared Hope International Ambassador and Special Guest Speakers, San Francisco, California.

Bringing this important community protection to your immediate locale, we train in the sanctuary as part of the sermon, during your social gathering afterwards, or we come on a special day organized by you. Whatever meets your needs, just let us know. Let’s educate your entire community!

2016.04.02 – “Human Labor and Sex Trafficking of Minors,” the kick-off training for a series of awareness workshops organized by The Diocese of Oakland, Oakland, California.

Following this kick-off, we held trainings on human trafficking prevention at several parishes throughout the Diocese during their Year of Mercy, as well as continuing biannual instruction for confirmation classes.
